We were in Guanacaste, on the NW coast of Costa Rica, for the first week. We went to many beaches, ate great food, and experienced a bit of the highway and road system first hand – some pavement, some packed dirt, some big ruts, some big rocks. The beaches were quiet, clean, not crowded, and there was always at least one place to get something to eat and drink. The water was warm, and most days there were waves that were very fun to play in.
