Today, during the main heat of the day, I spent a bit of time in the Blue Sky Ecological Preserve. It is a lovely oasis of native growth, and it is also possible to hike to two lakes made by dams that border the preserve. During the Witch Creek wildfire of 2007 much of the preserve burned, it is wonderful to see how growth has returned. The stark remains of burned trees provide contrast to the deep greens and very dark bark of the Coast Live Oaks. Here are a few shots. I hope that you enjoy them.
