Garden Update

Chard, holes The weather has turned hot – today it’s 95 already – this is early for such heat, but it will cool for a few days.  Things are popping up everywhere!  We have been away for about a week so it’s easier to see how the garden has grown.  Unfortunately it seems that I’ve been growing an insect luncheonette – the chard has many holes high up in the leaves.  So we put in some stakes and then covered the chard with netting.  I hope it works.  Time will tell.

The lettuce is growing well, we’ve had our 4th salad from the garden, and so far there are no more green wormies.  The bell peppers have blooms and the corn is getting taller.  Soon we’ll try some of the chard (with holes or without!).

Have a good weekend!
